- About Mercy & Blessings -
In 2014, I had this melody in my head, I started to freestyle this melody and beatbox to it then I made the drop using my most well known technique, "Laser". Good thing about my laser sound it automatically had a sub below 50hz. It sounded so full. I always play around with this melody. Then I decided to record this routine into a proper track in mid 2015. I made the arrangement originally the 1st drop and the 2nd drop very much the same. So it got very boring quickly. I leave it be, when I had the idea I come back and record new ideas to it. When I came back to this track, I just do the mixing and made it balanced. I layer more vocals in May 2017 with more lots of emotion. Babeli is a 2x German Beatbox Champion, Emperor of Mic Champion, Top 4 in Grand Beatbox Battle, Top 4 in the Beatbox Battle World Championship and he made major impact in the beatboxing communities worldwide. Suddenly, in February or so, Babeli commented on my Instagram profile and he checked out my videos and said he likes my beatboxing style. I suddenly had an idea and asked him do you want to be in my beatbox album? He said yes. I was thinking which is very suitable to do with him. We talked on Skype and we had the longest chat ever almost like 3 hours. So I picked this track, it was untitled, I had no name for it at that time. I sent him this track. Few months later, he sent me back this track along with separate tracks. He did various versions, I picked the best one and then I arranged accordingly. Later, I mixed this track, it was so hard for me to mix his part, he uses Shure MV51 sponsored by Shure. Somewhat to my ears, his part didn't blend well with the rest of the track sounds. I contacted him again and ask him if he can record just your bass sounds by layering on his part with more direct response microphone. I told him I faced a problem to get it right on his part. End of July 2018, he sent a better recording bass sounds. He actually didn't layer it, he did a different bass sounds totally different rhythm, however, in that session of his I got more interesting bass sounds. I arranged it on the breakdown and at the outro of this track. Amazing throat bass. I love the bass sounds he originally performed before he sent me a new one. Somehow, I managed to fixed the issue I faced before, I play around with the stereo separation and it sounded huge. I am very happy with the results.
