- About Padan Muka -
This is the hardest track I ever produced and composed. Why? It is because I wanted to achieve similar to Neurofunk genre. Usually in aggressive neurofunk tracks, the intro was dark, the drop was hard and dirty. Since 2011, I composed over 20+ times to get the right intro, drop, breaks, bridge, 2nd drop and ending. Most of the track I composed before, wasn't up to my standard. I got the right intro but I managed get a decent drop but it wasn't aggressive as I imagined or wanted. I can easily do this when I actually as Xzet Sicknal meaning using real non-beatbox sounds, VSTs and plugin synths. But as a beatboxer it is very hard to achieve because it human not electronics. So I took a rest and I even studied and adapt how my favourite neurofunk producers produced. Then I came to an understanding how to actually do it. I record the drop first as usual when I do this kind of tempo then in the intro, breaks and so on. I had the drop but how do I blend the intro for the 1st drop and the bridge before the 2nd drop? This is the hardest part to achieve for me. Then I layer my singing vocal multiples times to get that dark tone. The gnarly bass sound for the 2nd drop was actually me doing inward bass scream with minor addition effects of distortion, flanger and pitch shifter. Finally in June 2018, I achieve what I wanted. The phrase "Padan Muka" was actually I sampled myself from the video I did in 2011, "Made In Malaysia", a beatbox freestyle music video. The video was quite popular at that time, just recently I private the video because I want to renew my image and sounds. So I sampled "Padan Muka" as a tribute. I can proudly say this is the "hardest" track for a human beatbox track ever, pun intended. It might inspires various artists sooner especially in the beatboxing communities worldwide.
